Overview The heart of Horse and Musket is the unique command and control system that realistically simulates the chaos of battle. Not quite a straight up IGOUGO approach, during a turn leaders are checked for activation. Those activated can then take their turn while everyone waits for their activation to arrive. Because there are a variety of factors involved in activation turns are quite unpredictable. The order of leaders will change turn to turn and players will have to go with the flow. As they say, the best laid plan rarely survives contact with the enemy. Commanders at the top of the hierarchy have an interesting role in the system. History is replete with accounts of expert tacticians choosing the proper moment to impact the battle. In Horse and Musket a top commander can boost their subordinates ratings at certain points in the scenario. Knowing when to boost is critical, for the proper use of command points can turn a seemingly hopeless cause into an amazing victory. With more than twenty scenarios included, a scenario editor, and the ability to challenge others across the Internet, Horse and Musket will be a game that finds its place on your hard drive for a very long time. Brandywine, Malplaquet, Narva, and Rossbach are but a few of the over twenty scenarios covering the gamut of 18th century warfare from around the world. Battles vary in size from relatively small to massive. New scenarios can be created using the included easy to use scenario editor. Eight nationalities representing the major movers and shakers: Prussia, England, France, Sweden, Russia, Saxony, Austria, and colonial America. A turn represents fifteen minutes of real time, with each hex scaled at 150 yards across. Infantry units are battalions, cavalry two to three squadrons per unit, artillery batteries are four or more guns a unit, and leaders are represented individually. Turn based gameplay with an engaging command and control system. Leaders are checked for activation each turn, with the order possibly varying from turn to turn depending on the circumstances. Will that commander you moved into position be able to exploit his advantage next turn or will he instead be exploited? Turns are tense and exciting,
